The IT Run – Sprint 1

About the Event

The IT Run – Sprint 1 is a professionally managed running event exclusively for IT professionals, aimed at promoting fitness, wellness, and a healthy work–life balance. The event will be held on 29th March 2026 at Gachibowli Stadium, Hyderabad, bringing together 1,000+ runners from IT companies and startups across Hyderabad to celebrate fitness, community, and active living.

1️⃣ 5K Fun Run (Non-Timed)

The 5K Fun Run is ideal for beginners, casual runners, and participants who want to enjoy the event without competitive pressure.

This category focuses on participation, fitness, and fun rather than timing or rankings.

Open to all fitness levels

No podium awards

Perfect for first-time runners and social runners

2️⃣ 5K Open Category (Men & Women)

The 5K Open Category is designed for participants who want to experience a timed and competitive race.

Open to participants aged 18 years and above

Chip-timed race

Podium positions awarded separately for Men and Women based on finish times

3️⃣ 5K Age Group Categories (Men & Women)

These categories ensure fair competition among runners of similar age groups.

5K – 35 to 45 Years | Men & Women

Open to participants aged 35–45 years

Rankings based on official chip timing

Awards for Men and Women separately

5K – 45+ Years | Men & Women

Open to participants aged 45 years and above

Encourages endurance and lifelong fitness

Winners decided by chip-timed results

The 10K Open Category is for runners looking to test their endurance and performance in a competitive race environment.

Open to participants aged 18 years and above

5️⃣ 10K Age Group Categories (Men & Women)

These categories are specially designed for experienced runners who prefer age-based competition.

10K – 35 to 45 Years | Men & Women

Exclusive to participants aged 35–45 years

10K – 45+ Years | Men & Women

Designed for master runners aged 45 years and above

6️⃣ 5KConnected Duo Challenge

The 5K Connected Duo Challenge is a signature category of The IT Run – Sprint 1, promoting teamwork, bonding, and inclusivity.

Eligible Pair Types:

Men Pair

Women Pair

Mixed Pair (One Man + One Woman)

Both participants must complete the 5K distance

Rankings based on the combined (cumulative) finish time of both runners
