ABOUT EVENT

1,200 runners. 3 categories. 1 cause. This isn’t just a race. This is a reckoning.

What exactly is patriotism? A flag on your bio? A debate on news channels? A WhatsApp forward followed by a “Jai Hind”? That’s cute. But here’s a wild idea — how about you run it? On the ground. On the soil. On the same desert that once echoed with the gunfire of 120 soldiers who held their ground at Laungewala.

Welcome to THE BORDER2026— a point-to-point 100 miler by the Indians, for the Indians, of the Indians.

Flat, fierce, unforgiving. Born in the heart of the Thar. Raised by the madness of Indian ultra runners. And hosted by us — The Hell Race. So yeah, expect a little more than Gatorade and polite claps at the finish line.

This is the 9th edition, and we’re calling upon 1,200 runners — no filters, no borders, only Indians. Because if 120 soldiers could stand tall through the night in ’71, we figured 1,200 ultra runners can carry that spirit forward — through sandstorms, sunsets, and soul-crushing distances.

Over Eight years, few thousand runners have made this journey. Some came looking for glory. Some for healing. Some just to prove their inner voice wrong. And what did they find? National records. Broken bodies. Stories worth framing. And pride so big, it wouldn’t fit on Instagram. Now it’s your turn. You will not just pass milestones here. You will pass through generations of courage, kilometres of history, and layers of yourself you didn’t know existed. Every runner who signs up becomes part of a revolution — one built not on sponsorships or flash, but on community, commitment, and sheer crazy love for this country.

And yes, it’s only for Indians. Because this is India's story. India's ultramarathon.

WHY RUN THE BORDER?

Because it’s not just a race. It’s a living, running memorial. It’s a reminder of what it means to stand for something.

It’s where personal pain meets national pride — and somehow, they become the same thing.

So if you’re still on the fence, ask yourself this: Are you running for a medal? Or for a memory that lives longer than your finish time?

Because The Border isn’t asking for your pace. It’s asking for your heart.

And if you’ve got it in you — we’ll see you at the start line.

WHAT"S THE CHALLENGE?

50 KM | THE FRONTLINE DASH

Cut-Off: 8 Hours | Dec 19, 1200 HRS – Dec 19, 2000 HRS | Drop Bags: At 50 KM

New to ultras? Welcome to the desert.

This is the category for brave beginners and PB hunters. It starts hot, ends beautiful, and breaks just enough of your ego to leave you wanting more. If you’ve got the legs and the heart, this one will give you sunsets, silence, and a reality check served with the usual Hell Race Hydration. Finishes at Siyamber Lake — where your real ultra journey might just begin.

100 KM | THE SOLDIER’S MARCH

Cut-Off: 16 Hours | Dec 19, 1200 HRS – Dec 20, 0400 HRS | Drop Bags: At 60 KM & 100 KM

For runners who’ve seen the dark side of ultras — and still came back.

This category takes you deep into the Thar, ending at the edge of Asutar. The winds will slap you. The sun will roast you. Your inner monologue will turn against you by KM 70. But if you make it through, you’ll emerge with stories that put you amongst a different league of humans.

100 MILES | THE BATTLEFRONT OF THE BRAVE

Cut-Off: 28 Hours | Dec 19, 1200 HRS – Dec 20, 1600 HRS | Drop Bags: At 60 KM. 100 KM & 100 Miles

This isn’t a race. This is a battle.

From Jaisalmer to the Laungewala War Memorial — 160 KM of sand, solitude, and self-discovery. Through Alam ka Gaon, Asutar, Netsi, few forgotten villages, and the final 40 KM of rolling hell — where your body checks out and only your purpose keeps moving. You’ll hallucinate. You’ll bargain with the moon. You’ll feel the full meaning of the word honour. And if you cross that finish line? Congratulations, soldier — you’ve joined a rare breed.
