About Event

We “Vizag Runners Society” a non profit organisation founded in 2014 as a running group and registered in 2021, has been organizing the “VIZAG MARATHON” since 2022 to create awareness on health and fitness in the community.

A three tier approach of support training and events across the year has established the Society of runners for runners by runners. 

After the successful 3rd edition, a new category the 20 miler was introduced the next year and the 4th edition saw a turnout of 10,000 runners .

5K Fun run- ideal for beginners - starting at the park hotel junction after an energetic warm up at the holding area in MGM PARK, runners comfortably amble along the beach road as the Sun rises majestically over the mighty ocean,taking in the visual symphony, turn around at Kali temple and jog down to the FINISHLINE to glean the prize—the thoughtfully designed finishers medal. Then walk down to the ground, tap their feet to the cool down music and recover with the hot breakfast. A memorable winter morning.

10K Run- for the amateur runners- the course takes them further till the Ropeway at Kailasagiri- a tiny challenging slope before turning back towards the finish line and the much coveted finisher’s medal, 

HALF MARATHON- a dream for the amateurs and a habit for the seasoned runners- this race takes the runners over the foothill of Kailasagiri offering a challenging elevation, then on to the sunrise point and settle down to their pace and take the U turn after Radison and pump up their pace to cross the finish line and earn their finisher’s medal . Make use of the recovery area and savour the breakfast .

The 20 miler- a practice distance for the Marathon aspirant- this route offers an undulating road along the Sea coast till the film Nagar club , take a U turn and trace back to cross the finish line, be adorned with the glorious medal and proceed to the recovery area and refreshing breakfast.
